The Institute of Medical Device Industry and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") is jointly established by Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology and the National Innovation Center for High-Performance Medical Devices as a strategic collaboration. It serves as an industry-university-research platform that implements national major strategic deployments and Shenzhen's "20+8" industrial cluster development plan.
As the core research carrier for the biomedical engineering discipline at Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology, the Institute focuses on the global frontier of medical device technology and industrial upgrading needs. It has established a full-chain innovation system covering "basic research-technological breakthroughs-achievement transformation" and focuses on five strategic areas: medical imaging, in vitro diagnostics, medical materials and implantable/interventional devices, advanced therapy, and medical neural engineering.
By deepening the integration of science and education as well as industry and education, the Institute is building a national-level innovation platform integrating top talent cultivation, discipline highland construction, key technological breakthroughs, and high-end industrial incubation, continuously providing talent support, technological support, and industrial support for the Healthy China strategy.
